Arsenal put on worst display in years, suffer first loss of seasonThere’s good news and bad news with regards to yesterday’s Champions League opener against Inter Milan at Highbury. First the good news, Arsenal held Inter to only four shots on goal. The bad news? Inter scored on three of those shots, and the fourth hit the post!
It was perhaps the post pathetic game played by Arsenal since the 1-6 loss to ManUre at Old Trafford a few seasons back. Inter Milan didn’t as much win the game as Arsenal lost it.
No one player is immune to criticism, as they all looked crap. The most frustrating thing is that Arsenal had many opportunities to score, but it seemed as if noone had the guts to take the shot. Oh, there were plenty of shots, in fact Arsenal registerd nine shots on goal in the first half alone, but none went in the net.
The most glaring miss of all was Thierry Henry’s penalty miss. I think my nine-year-old sister could have put more power behind that shot.
