October 31st, 2004 — New York Giants

Giants continue winning ways in Minnesota, win third consecutive game at Metrodome
Thanks to big days by Tiki Barber and Jeremy Shockey, the Giants improved to 5-2 on the season, and are right in the thick of the Wild Card hunt.
The biggest play of the game came in the third quarter when Kurt Warner hit Jeremy Shockey on a crossing pattern on 3rd and 23. Shockey hurdled a defender to gain the last few needed yards, then dove for the pilon, coming within half a yard of the score.
The Giants will return home to face another NFC Norris team, the Chicago Bears. Kickoff is 4:05 PM ET on Sunday. The Eagles are on at 1 PM, but as luck would have it, it’s a CBS doubleheader weekend, so I’ll again be forced to follow the action via Field Pass.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling has given a Halloween present to all fans who visit her website today. Click on the picture above to join the fun. See if you can find the door pictured above. When you do, wait for Peeves to drop off some keys (could be a few minutes.) Pick the right one, and you’ll find the surprise. Hurry though, as she is known to make these surprises available for only a short time. Good luck!

1/2 (out of five)
While not as good as “South Park : Bigger, Longer, and Uncut,” Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s latest attempt at feature film is an absolute laugh-riot. “Team America: World Police” is searing social commentary, served up by two of our favorite satirists of the modern age.

Van Persie rescues point for Arsenal, saves Gunners from embarrassment
Arsenal, seemingly still re-grouping after the debacle that was last’s weeks match at ManUre, struggled to take control of today’s match against Southampton, and it cost them two points.
The Gunners missed an early opportunity to assert their dominance when Thierry Henry’s penalty about 30 minutes into the match hit the post and was cleared out of play. While TiTi did put Arsenal ahead in the 67th, they just never did seem to control the match.
Sol Campbell’s abscence through injury loomed large, as Southampton scored twice within five minutes late in the match. Rory Delap beat Pascal Cygan in the air in the 80th minute, and again in the 85th to put the Gunners in danger of losing their second league game in as many matches - this after a having previously gone forty-nine games without defeat!
Step in super-sub Robin Van Persie. Deep into stoppage time, the Dutch youngster twisted and turned his way through the Southampton defense, and then sent a beautiful curling shot into the corner of the net to pull the Gunners even. He almost added a winner seconds later, but alas time had run out.
Next up for Arsenal, Champions League action against Panathanaikos at home on Tuesday afternoon. A win is an absolute must. Kickoff is 2:45 PM ET, so make sure you vote early!

Lyrics (because that’s German you know…)
Tanz Mit Laibach (English)
by Laibach
We all are possessed
we all are damned
we all are crucified
we all are broken
by attractive technology
by economics of time
by quality of life
and the philosophy of war
one, two, three, four
come dance with me baby brother,
one, two, three, four
give me both your hands
one, two, three, four
dance with me my friends
one, two, three, four
round around, it isn’t difficult
we dance to Ado Hinkel
Benzino Napoloni
we dance to Schiekelgrueber
and dance with Maitreya
with Totalitarianism
and with democracy
we dance with Fascism
and red anarchy
one, two, three, four
come dance with me comrade
one, two, three, four
give me both your hands
one, two, three, four
come dance with me comrade
one, two, three, four
round around, it isn’t difficult
we dance and we jump
we hop and we sing
we fall and rise
we give or take
American friend and
German comrade
we dance well together
we dance to Baghdad
one, two, three, four
come dance with me baby brother,
one, two, three, four
give me both your hands
one, two, three, four
dance with me my friends,
one, two, three, four
round around, it isn’t difficult
