Betrayal

Steriods scandal explodes as it’s revealed that Bonds and Giambi both admit use.

Recent news reports revealed that baseball superstars Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants and Jason Giambi of the New York Yankees have both admitted during a grand jury investigation to the use of multiple steriods provided by the BALCO company of Oakland, CA.

I’ll leave the details to the press ( ESPN, CNNSI, FOX Sports), but suffice to say that my Giambi 25 shirt will now be used as a cleaning rag, and my Jason Giambi bobble-head doll is headed for the local dump, as will my Jason Giambi Hallmark Keepsake Christmas ornament.

If this is true - and I believe it is - than Barry Bonds home run record needs to be removed or have a * added to the end much like the famous 61*.

I am not sure I really understand why you are only now showing disgust for Giambi. It has been apparent since the first day that he showed up at training camp as a yankee that the guy was on the juice. When the balco scandel hits the press he drops 50 pounds and has all sorts of health issues. I am having a harder time dealing with the Bonds issue. Here is a guy who has broken so many records and has made it fun for every baseball fan to watch him play. For me Bonds was the link to the past, the type of player you only read about in books like Hank Aaron and the Babe. I knew in the back of my mind that something must be up for a guy to be so good in his late 30’s but I was trying to cling to the innocent til proven guilty motto. I guess I should of also applied this to Giambi but the one difference is that during the scandal Bonds didn’t lose his weight, Bonds didn’t lose his ability to play. So it was easier to believe that maybe he was telling the truth. I dunno…sorry bout the ramble.

Well, the reason I specified Giambi was because he’s the one’s whose shirt, bobble-head and Christmas ornament I have. I’ve never liked Bonds all that much, so therefore I don’t have anything of his to get rid of.
