Coachella and Bonnaroo Lineups Announced

The festival season is starting to kick into high gear, with two of the better festivals in the country, Coachella in California, and Bonnaroo in Tennesee, both announcing their lineups this past week.

Cocahella is up first, taking place the weekend of April 30/May 1. The rumors were half true, Coldplay is definitely headlining, but U2 will not be present.

Here’s the rest of the lineup in full:

Bonnaroo has grown in popularity every year, reaching a peak last year when acts like Bob Dylan and the Dead made appearances along with Trey Anastasio, Gov’t Mule and other jam-band stalwarts. However, it’s not all jam bands, as evidenced by the lineup below. While it’s quite a list, there are supposedly 35 more acts to be announced for this year’s shows, which take place June 10 through June 12.

Bonnaroo 2005 lineup (as of today):

Bluffing your way to the top

My friend Becca’s brother Dan is following his dream of becoming a professional poker player and has recently moved to Las Vegas. His story is quite inspirational, and you can follow his progress in the poker magazine, “Bluff,” or on their website; www.bluffmagazine.com

Best of luck Dan, from all of us at AOM!

Arsenal 2 - 0 Wolves

FA Cup 4th Round

Patrick Vieira’s second half penalty conversion proved to be the winning goal as Arsenal advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup with a convincing 2-0 win over Wolves.

Freddie Ljungberg added an insurance goal from close range in the 82nd minute, but the result was never in doubt, as the Gunners dominated the match from the start.

In fact, if it were not for some stellar play from the Wolves keeper, the score could have been much more lopsided.

The draw for the fifth round takes place at lunch time in London on Monday, so we’ll know what’s up just as we’re beginning our days here in the States. The fifth round ties are scheduled for the weekend of February 19 & 20. Considering that Arsenal play Bayern Munich in Germany on the 22nd, my money is on the 19th.

Of more pressing concern is this Tuesday’s upcoming match at Highbury against ManUre. The northern scum are only one point behind in the league, so it’s imperitive that the Gunners take advantage of this opportunity to not only put some space between themselves and ManUre, but also make a statement by reversing the result at Old Trafford earlier this year that saw the end of Arsenal’s 49 game league unbeaten streak.

Kickoff is at 3PM ET on Tuesday, and the match is being broadcast live on Fox Sports World.

Doris’ Birthday Party

So, a number of us decided to treat Christine to a night on the town in Baltimore’s Little Italy last night.

Dinner at Amicci’s and dessert at Vaccaro’s helped to make it a special evening, and fun was had by all, especially Christine.

UPDATE:
Pictures from the night’s festivities can be found…. here

War! What is it good for?

…absolutely nothing?
