Blueshirts Send Trevor Gillies and a 2007 Conditional Draft Pick to the Mighty Ducks
New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has acquired center Steve Rucchin from the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in exchange for left wing Trevor Gillies and a conditional pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
“Steve is a player who adds leadership, experience and size at the center ice position,” stated Sather. “He has demonstrated over his career to be a versatile player who plays a solid, two-way game. His competitive nature will have a positive impact on our young players.”
While I don’t have high hopes for this upcoming season, this is, in my opinion, a great pickup for the Rangers, and I look forward to seeing Rucchin in a Rangers sweater.
