September 20th, 2005 — Music and Television

Tonight in New York, musicians from around the country and around the world will be putting on two simultaneous concerts. At Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall, artists as diverse as Elvis Costello and Trey Anastasio will be playing to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. These shows will be offered live on PPV TV for $19.95. I for one plan to tune in, as it’s a great way to donate to the cause, as well as enjoy some great music.
The coverage starts @ 7PM ET, so be sure to check it out.
Below is a full listing of the bands/musicians involved:

September 19th, 2005 — New York Giants

Giants earn a “road-victory” over an inspired Saints team, winning 27-10 at Giants Stadium tonight.
Due to Hurricane Katrina, tonight’s game was rescheduled from yesterday to today, and moved from the Superdome to the Meadowlands. So, technically, the Giants were the road team, and as a result wore their away whites and kicked off to the Saints to start the game. On the opening kickoff, the Saints tried a bit of trickeration, and it resulted in a fumble that the G-men recovered. A few plays later it was 7-0 Giants, and after that, Big Blue never trailed.
More later…
September 19th, 2005 — Arsenal FC

Big Sol stands in as captain, and scores twice to pace Gunners to win over Everton.
Sol Campbell returned from injury in a big way tonight. Not only did he captain the side in Thierry Henry’s abscence, but he also scored two goals. Not just any goals, but two headed goals from set pieces!
Robert Pires went off injured in the first half, so Aleksander Hleb had a chance to play nearly 75% of the match. The guy’s going to be a superstar.

Found this online, and it was just too funny not to post.
September 14th, 2005 — Arsenal FC

Dennis Bergkamp pulls Arsenal’s collective asses out of the fire as the Gunners pull out a late, late, late 2-1 win over FC Thun.
September 13th, 2005 — Arsenal FC

Thierry Henry will be out for at least six weeks due to a groin injury.
Henry seems to have suffered the injury blow during France’s 1-0 win over Ireland last week, and sat out Arsenal’s loss at Middlesbrough on Saturday as a result.
The captain was quoted as saying:
“I knew my body was not right and I just have to rest. I do not want to copy what I did last season when I played on with an injury.”
Last season, Henry was suffering from an Achilles tendon injury on which he continued to play despite being hurt. That decision ultimately led to his missing the last several weeks of the season, including the FA Cup win over ManUre.
Here’s hoping that Arsenal’s results don’t suffer any while TiTi’s out, and that he makes a quick and complete recovery.
