Paying tribute to Wellington Mara in the best possible fashion, Tiki Barber and the Giants crushed the Redskins 36-0 at the Meadowlands this afternoon.
Barber rushed for a career-high 206 yards and a touchdown, and in so doing, led the Giants to first place in the NFC East.
The defense was MUCH IMPROVED this week, and earned their first shutout since the 41-0 victory over Minnesota in the 2000 NFC Championship Game and their first in the regular season since a 20-0 win against Philadelphia in 1998.
Eli Manning was okay, throwing for one touchdown (to Jeremy Shockey) and one pick.
Next for the Giants is a trip across the country to face the struggling San Francisco 49ers. Kickoff is 4PM ET.
