Robin van Persie played for only 25 minutes, but scored twice in that time to pace Arsenal to a 3-o victory over Sparta Prague at Highbury this afternoon.
The Dutchman came on in the 65th minute, replacing Thierry Henry who had opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a stunning, curling shot from 25 yards out.
Arsenal’s victory earned them passage to the knockout phases of the Champions League. Next up for the Gunners is Sunderland at Highbury on Saturday. Kickoff is 10 AM ET.
