Wigan 2 - 3 Arsenal

Thierry Henry’s pinpoint free kick proves the deciding goal as Arsenal earn their first road victory of the season with a 3-2 win over Wigan.

Wigan are the suprise of the season so far, a newly promoted side now sitting second in the table. They put up a hell of a fight, but in the end, the Gunners were able to stay the course to collect all three points. This moves them back up to third on 23 points with a game in hand.

Next up is a trip to Switzerland to take on FC Thun on Tuesday. As Arsenal have already qualified for the next round of the Champions League, we should see a fairly young Arsenal side taking the pitch. Kickoff is @ 2:45 PM ET.

Glad to see that Wigan couldn’t surprise the Gunners. I was shocked when I looked at the ladder just a couple of days ago. My first thought was “Who the hell is Wigan FC?”
