This match wasn’t televised here in the US, but I was able to keep tabs via text messages. I got texted six times in just under 50 minutes! Yes, Arsenal scored four goals in the first half to earn just their second league win of the month of December. Dennis Bergkamp opened the scoring just seven minutes in. Five minutes later, Jose Antonio Reyes got his second goal in as many matches. Thierry Henry then broke his five game scoring drought by scoring twice before the half was out.
That was pretty much it, but from all accounts, Mathieu Flamini had the best game of his Arsenal career, while ex-skipper Patrick Vieira looked on from the stands.
Next match is away at Aston Villa on Saturday. Kickoff is at 7:30 AM ET, and the match is being broadcast live here in the States on Fox Soccer Channel.

Jose Antonio Reyes’ 58th minute strike was enough to give the Gunners all three points for Christmas. It was only the second time this season that Arsenal have won away from home. Gotta love the Christmas programme, as it’s right back to action on Wednesday when Arsenal face Portsmouth at Highbury. Kickoff is 2:45 PM ET. The match is NOT being televised here in the US.

Wishing everyone a great Christmas, and a very happy Chanukah.

Giants leave it all to do next week in Oakland as they put in another piss poor performance away from home and lose to the Redskins 35-20 on Saturday afternoon.
