This is obviously two days late, but yesterday was spent recovering from a New Year’s Eve that ran the gamut from chilled and laid back to raging keg party. More on that later. This is the post about the game. I must ask, why the hell would the NFL schedule a game that lasted until 11 PM ET on New Year’s Eve? John and Debie were kind enough to turn the game on during dinner so I was able to keep one ear on the game and one ear on the dinner conversation. However, most people I know like to keep those types of things separated, so perhaps the NFL should think twice about scheduling a game so late on NYE.
Well, the Giants took care of business and in so doing secured themselves a home playoff game next Sunday. Tiki Barber’s 203 yards (including a 95 yard touchdown run) and Plaxico Burress’ 78 yard touchdown catch paced the G-men to a good road victory.
Eli Manning stayed consistent, completing about 50% of his passes.
The Giants will now face the 11-5 Carolina Panthers at Giants Stadium on Sunday at 1PM. The Giants hope to have TE Jeremy Shockey back from injury in time for kickoff.
