This one’s for you Tab Ramos…
The US Men’s National Team kick off their World Cup 2006 preparations with a friendly against Canada on Sunday. The match takes place in the sunny climes of San Diego, and kicks off at 8 PM ET.
In the latest FIFA World Rankings, released on January 18, the US are ranked seventh, tied with Mexico, and two places above England. Ahead of the US are; Brazil in first, followed by Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Argentina, Spain and France. Rounding out the top ten is Portugal.
The World Cup is closer than we all think, and the US have it all to do having been drawn in the same group as the Czech Republic and Italy. Ghana will be no pushovers either.
Between Sunday and the middle of March, the US will face Norway, Japan and Guatemala at home and Germany away, with one more opponent to be determined. Apart from Guatemala, all good tests lined up by Bruce Arena, and I’m sure we’ll here of some before June rolls around.
