I’ll let Scott post his comments on this, but Isiah Thomas’ plan to make the Knicks good again (Is it even possible?) took it’s first step, with the trade of Penny Hardaway and Trevor Ariza to the Magic in exchange for Steve Francis.
Like I’ve said before, I don’t really follow the NBA too closely. However, even I know that Stephan Marbury, who is already in the Knicks backcourt, is better than Steve Francis. So, what is Isiah getting at? Is he going to turn around and trade Francis to the Lakers for Lamar Odom? Or, is going to unload Marbury, because, really, they’re the only two players worth anything on the Knicks roster.
What do you think Scott?

With their 4-3 loss to Finland in today’s quarterfinal, the US are out of the 2006 Olympic hockey tournament.
The US limped to a 1-4-1 record, a shadow of their silver medal accomplishment four years ago in Salt Lake City.
Well, that just means that all of the US -based NHL players will have plenty of rest before the NHL resumes play on March 2.

Perhaps the biggest win of the year, in the biggest game of the year so far.
EDIT: 2:46 PM, the next day.
I honestly meant to add more last night, but I fell asleep really early last night - somewhere between 9 and 10. Anyway, I don’t have much time now other than to say that it was a monster performance from a extremely weakened Arsenal side. Thierry Henry played like a captain, and I can’t say enough about Cesc Fabregas. The kid is going to be a superstar. Emmanuel Eboue, Alex Hleb, and Mathieu Flamini all had their games of the season, and Freddie Ljungberg looked like he did 12 months ago. Jose Reyes revels in torturing Real Madrid, and spent his entire time on the pitch running around like a madman. However, my man of the match goes to keeper Jens Lehmann, who made several outstanding saves to keep Real Madrid at bay.
Going back to Highbury up 1-0 with the away goal advantage is huge. Let’s hope the boys keep it up on March 8. (I wonder if it’ll be on ESPN2…)

Joel just alerted me to the newest Ben & Jerry’s Flavor: Black & Tan. I’ll definitely be searching this one out the next time I’m in the mood for ice cream. To learn more, click on the image above.
EDIT: 5:25 PM - Actually, looking back at the Ben & Jerry’s site, I found several more intriguing new flavors, including:

Looks like I’ll have to have renowned ice cream fiends Doris, Bex and ‘lyssa come over sometime
EDIT: UPDATE 3/5/06 - I was able to find Vermonty Python and Neapolitan Dynamite the other day. Both are excellent! I’m still looking for Black & Tan, though.
