Arsenal announced today that Czech Republic international Tomas Rosicky has signed a “long-term contract”, for an “undisclosed fee.” The 25 year old midfielder, who has plied his trade at Sparta Prague and most recently Borussia Dortmund, was quoted as saying,
“I’m really happy to be here at Arsenal, it is a great day for me. The team showed its strength recently in the Champions League and it has big potential with a lot of young players, I think we can be even better next season. This is the best club in Europe and I will give everything for Arsenal.”

It’s official. Just moments ago, at a press conference in London, Arsenal announced that Thierry Henry has signed a new, four-year contract with the club. This will keep the captain here through the 2010 season.
I don’t think I need to say how great this news is.
Some Henry quotes from the press conference:
“At one point it crossed my mind to leave, but I think with my heart and my heart told me to stay.”
“I’m staying here at the club that I love”
“….the love that the fans showed me was amazing and after the way we lost I couldn’t let them down”
” ..it’s difficult to leave a country like England because of the passion”
“The team showed me we had nothing to fear from Barcelona. It showed me one thing I wanted to know and that’s how far I can go with this team.”
I met the boss the other night
He says to me, “I’ve got the new Ian Wright”
I says to him, “Who could that be?”
He says to me, “Thierry Henry.”

Despite Tom Cruise’s inherent creepiness, Mission: Impossible III turns out to be a solid summer popcorn flick.
Phillip Seymour Hoffman was fantastic as the purely evil arms dealer Davien, playing the character with a sense of unpredictability that was effective in keeping the audience on edge throughout.
