Arsenal 3 - 0 Liverpool

Mathieu Flamini, Kolo Toure, and William Gallas are three unlikely goal-scorers as Arsenal put in an inspired performance at home to beat Liverpool 3-0.

Thierry Henry may not have scored today, but he played like a man possessed, getting back on defense, blocking shots, heading crosses out into touch, and more.

Robin van Persie had a chance early on to give the Gunners the lead within the opening moments, but was yellow-carded for an obvious hand ball as he tried to chip Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina.

Gael Clichy made some outstanding runs, and looks just about back to top form. Can anyone say Cashley who?

Emmanuel Adebayor had a chance to make it two goals in a week as he was clear through on goal with only moments left in the game. He never seemed to have control of the ball, and ended up shooting straight into Reina’s chest.

Manuel Almunia, standing in for a sick Jens Lehmann, was hardly tested, and with the help of the rest of the team, held on for Arsenal’s fifth League clean sheet of the year.

The only player who seemed a bit off today was Cesc. His decision making when passing could be called into question today, as well as last week. Perhaps he’s pressing, perhaps he’s gotten a bit cocky. All I know is that I hope he sorts himself out quickly

The win vaults the Gunners up to third in the Premiership on 21 points, just ahead of Aston Villa and Bolton on goal difference, which after today is now up to 13. All this, despite playing on less game than everyone else in the top five.

Nice little reversal from the doom and gloom of the past week or so. Oh the life of a football fan!

(BTW, Arsenal were yesterday drawn away to Liverpool for the League Cup 1/4s)

Caught this last night, and I have to say it is absolutely the funniest film since Team America.

Everton 0 - 1 Arsenal

Emmanuel Adebayor’s late goal lifts the Gunners over Everton at Goodison, and on to the League Cup Quarter-Finals.

Election Day

Giants 14 - 10 Texans

In a game way too close for comfort, the Giants took a fourth quarter lead to beat the Houston Texans 14-10 at Giants Stadium yesterday. Tiki Barber rushed for 115 yards and his first touchdown of the year, while Jeremy Shockey had season high yards and receptions to go along with his winning touchdown.

The win keeps the Giants in first in the NFC East, and sets up a mouth-watering matchup with the Chicago Bears next Sunday. The previously unbeaten Bears were shockingly handled at home by the Miami Dolphins yesterday, so perhaps they’re mortal after all.

Kickoff is @ 8:30 PM ET on Sunday, and the game is being carried nationwide on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

West Ham 1 - 0 Arsenal

Robin van Persie hit by a coin thrown from the crowd, a blown penalty non-call, an 89th minute winner set up by c*nty himself, Arsene Wenger and Alan Pardew coming to blows. All scenes from today’s title chase derailment. Yeah, it’s early, but we’re 10 points adrift, and recent play doesn’t instill much confidence. West Ham are shit, and three points should have been in the bag.
