Sabres 5 - 2 Rangers

This was a tough one to watch. If the Rangers keep playing like they did last night, this playoff beard I’ve got going will be gone by this time next week.

The Rangers came out strong early, but the Sabres withstood the early onslaught while the Rangers came away with nothing after the first period of play.

Then, in the second, the Sabres took it to a new level. They were just that much faster to the loose pucks, and were rewarded for the efforts with three goals in just a matter of a few minutes.

The Rangers got both of their goals in a third period during which there was never a doubt that the Sabres had the game won.

Tom Renney will need to re-think his game plan and hope for a little luck if the Rangers are going to have any chance of advancing past these very, very good Sabres.
