Despite outplaying the Sabres in nearly every aspect of the game, the Rangers still ended up the losing side in a frustrating game two of the Eastern Conference semis.
The Rangers were MUCH better than in game one, and actually led 2-1 after two periods. The difference in the game was Buffalo goalie Ryan Miller, who made spectacular save after spectacular save - 31 in all.
The scene now shifts to Madison Square Garden. Perhaps the home ice advantage will help swing the pendulum in the Rangers favor. I liked what I saw last night from the Rangers. Unlike game one, game two was their to be won by the Blueshirts. Hopefully they can build on the positives and the fact that they’ll be skating in front of their home fans to pull level in the series.
Game 3 will be broadcast throughout much of the country in HD on NBC at 2PM ET on Sunday.
