Okey hotels in OK

Next destination on my list is the land where they think nothing is interesting, but no Oklahoma is the way to go! At first I have no idea why travelers and back packers like me always add Oklahoma particularly Tulsa and Oklahoma City on their list. All I see in pictures are vast orangey sunset, mountains and sun. Then I realize, thats the beauty that you must see. First time I stopped by here was a little quick since it was just a stop over from one of our state tour near Oklahoma, Texas in particular which will take hours if you know a shortcut from OK to TX.

We stayed at one of the motels ten moved to one bricktown OK hotels near the area where we find it more comfy to stay with a reasonable price. The staff where very friendly and we were able to ask some other info about the place which made us more exciting to visit Oklahoma City again.

We plan the visit early next year since they advise us that a lot of establishment are on renovation now after the last semi disaster the city experience. I think they were hit by a tornado or earthquake if my memory serves me right. They advice us tat Jan-Mar are the best weather to visit since December is not favorable due to the said incident. Ok Christmas would have been fun. But January is near anyways so it OKEY. :)

Ski breaks in Austria

Austria is one of the best places in the world to ski. The moment you arrive, you feel like you are in the archetypal ski resort. All of the buildings are of the traditional Alpine style with steep roof lines, for the most part covered in thick white snow. Because Austria is a little further north than some of the other Alpine countries, it tends to get the better snow fall and have a slightly longer season too.

Pain less, fun more!

The last trail I had been last March, argh, that was really a long time ago isn’t it? I remember how hard it was for the group to take that Himalayan Trail for 5 days. I swear, I almost didn’t make it. It was like one of those episodes in Discovery Channel where you want to almost almost give up when you don’t see the any sign of where you are going. Worst, when pain goes with your trail. It was a bad decision for me to wear that cheapskate mountain hiking shoes since that was an impromptu trip.  You know, where friends are drinking then suddenly one friend suggested, “Hey, lets try the Himalayas”…since we were all drunk, we just said YES! And there we go. It was all fun and adventure anyway. As they say, unplanned trips are always the fun one.

 

This time they are planning another trip for Pinatubo trail. Since I’m low on budget, I only have another cheap hiking shoes since I’m not really that type of hiker who will use those expensive hiking shoes anytime. A friend suggested for me to buy shoe inserts arch support. He told me it can reduce the pain I feel for my hike and I can even use it with my other shoes. I’m not even sure if its my time to use this support, but my friend who broke a tendon on his ankle have tried it and it works that he was save from having an operation which was advice first by his doctor podiatrist.

 

I’m still thinking of getting one shoe support just in case. My friends already listed this arch support as his mustbring for his every trip for us not to live in pain and just enjoy our travel adventure.

Have you notice the trending of sports lately in our country? And what’s good about it is that people who are into sports now doesn’t have to spend much to have that good balance, fit and healthy life. Numbers of boxing fans grew in last two years, then there was this fad for badminton, tennis where tennis courts grew like mushrooms everywhere. Now, if you notice running is here plus the triathlon, walking and anything that involves just our body.

Aside from involving our whole body into this new sports, what we all need in every sports are our good pair of shoes may it be for running, trainer, hiking, biking or walking shoes. For a beginner, you may ask the shoe sales assistant on what shoes fits you. A company once offered me a brochure on how to choose my first running shoes by wetting my feet and step on a bond paper or any plain paper or pad where the footprint will show up and will tell if you are a flat footed or what. So the shoes that you will get are something convenient and comfortable for you.

This is very important to consider when buying shoes or else you might just waste your money by buying the wrong ones and worse it will only injure you that may prevent you from doing your sports. You may also consider buying one that can be use for any kind of sports especially if you haven’t decided which sports you will focus on. It’s best to try those outdoor walking shoes which are good for any sports event.

Ain’t no mountain high

Summer is officially over but the memories I had this summer is unforgettable. It is my first time to try out something adventure and I may say life risky activity for a traveller like me. Joining me and Mike are his pals from this mountaineering club we’ve joined before in our area. At first, we have tried local mountains here in Asia, did a little of hiking here, camping up there and campfire in some places. But the best thing we have ever tried is our preparation for our almost a year of tiredness and exhaustion is coming to us face to face. Yes, we will be climbing the highest peak of Mount Everest which is situated in Nepal and some part of Tibet, China.

I was hesitant to join the team at first since hearing those scaredy stories in climbing Everest will make you back out. But what enlightened us are those stories that gave us hope that we can do this. It’s not actually climbing the peak of Everest, well at least we made it to the 3rd base of the mountain which is no joke to climb. Those try outs of mountain climbing here and hiking everywhere made it a little easier for us to explore Everest. Aside from physically fit preparation, we have to prepare items to be brought with us in the mountain.

For me, the most important thing you need to consider is your jacket! Super! This is our life saver! Good thing The North Face has their complete line of everything I need from head to toe and even back and front. I’ve got to hoard on some of their items during their grand sale online and other items on their regular price which is absolutely justifiable and reasonable for their prices. I got a shell jacket that kept me warm during the whole exploration, Mike got the same thing and so is the rest of the team since North Face is a trusted brand to us mountain climbers.

The whole trek went rocky, bumpy and some part went some smooth just like how life should be. But in the end, after all those chappy lips, violet skins, numb hands, everything was all worth it when we finally saw our homebase camp and marked our destination with our very own flag. All worth it and I’m willing to do this again.

Island hopping near Bali

A few years ago a few of my friends went travelling around the world and all of them had one favourite place – a tiny island called Gilli Trawangan, a tiny little island just off the coast of Bali and forming part of the Lombok islands. The way my friends talked about this place made it sound like a heaven on earth. They paid no more than two pounds a night top live in a little wooden shack supported by poles on the edge of the beach. Every day they did nothing more than snorkel by day and relax in the pub by night but they could barely bear to drag themselves away from the place when their trip came to an end.

Having heard so much about the place I was determined to go there myself. It was only because I was a year younger than them and I was still doing my degree that I hadn’t been able to go they first time, so I owed it to myself to see the place at long last. I started to have a look around on the internet to see if I could find any affordable flights to Bali and I managed to track some down that were quite manageable. My girlfriend and I headed out there and after one flight and several small boat rides we finally reached Gilli. It was everything I had ever hoped it would be and more.
